Our Work

Our Services

To carry out its mission, the NRCJIW:

  • Collaborates with government agencies to provide technical assistance to federal, state, and local justice systems
  • Develops gender-responsive and trauma-informed resources for the field
  • Serves as a clearinghouse for research and information regarding innovative and promising practices related to women involved in the justice system

Our Leadership

The NRCJIW is administered by the Center for Effective Public Policy (CEPP). CEPP is a nonprofit organization that works to advance justice by sharing expertise, promoting research-informed and emerging practices, and facilitating change. CEPP strives to make justice systems more humane and to respond to the distinct needs of unique populations, including women. The NRCJIW partners with individuals and organizations that have been at the forefront of conducting research and developing evidence-based and gender-responsive resources for the justice field.
